In the past, there was no road but just a small path, and there were no high heels but homemade cotton shoes. Back then, all the dowries including typical duvets, bins, and some light furniture would be carried on shoulders, and the bride had to be picked up on foot. When it came to a stream, the bridegroom would carry the bride who would throw some red hard candy and red eggs into the water.
